Pointsec
Pointsec provides whole disk encryption for Windows computers for data at rest.
Whole disk encryption is a solution for protecting all data on an entire desktop or laptop. Whole disk encryption transparently secures disk contents, including system and temporary files, automatically safeguarding sensitive data from unauthorized access.
Requests for Pointsec must be made by departmental computer support coordinators in order to manage software deployment. Departmental CSCs will receive customized training from Sarah Mays, encryption solution manager, during which they will receive the software. Pointsec is not available to individuals.
Departments that wish to purchase Pointsec licenses and support from EIS will receive:
- Consultation service to determine the suitable encryption solution for the environment
- Customized installation training/supervision
- Technical support
- Functional support
- Centralized key management including
- Centralized layer 2/3 incident support
- Incident investigation, diagnosis, and recovery
- Customer updates as required
- Confirmation incident has been resolved
- Fulfillment of service requests
- Internal administration/financial coordination
- Collection of recharge information (account/fund, DPA)
- Initiation of internal recharge/billing additions/modifications
- Maintenance of license availability (quantity and authenticity)
Requests must be made through an OAAIS Customer Support Remedy ticket. This will insure that the service will be tracked and remain “active” until all deployment steps have been completed and billing for licenses has been completed. Follow these instructions (application/x-pdf, 74.9 kB, info).
The cost is $92 per device for the first year and $55 per device each subsequent year. Account and fund information is submitted during the Request process referenced above.
