Backups

Safeguard important documents, research, and records you can not afford to lose

Save and save often!

There is nothing more painful than losing months or years of research. If no backups are available, the only choice is to start over again. Data can be lost through viruses, theft of the device, fire, natural disasters, hardware failure, user error, malicious user, lost access rights, and many more. Backing up is not just good security but a good computing practice.

Whether it's a server, workstation, or mobile device there is likely data you can't afford to lose on it. Check with your CSC or department for what backup solutions are available to you.
